Running Inc. acquired the Portage Cab contract in January 2006. With the addition of the Portage shared ride taxi area, the total annual rider-ship for Running Inc. has more than doubled. We currently have 9 vehicles and 26 employees serving the Portage area seven days per week, including holidays.
ANNOUNCING!
Portage Cab is "going green"! We have added three bio fuel cars to the fleet and you may have noticed our Ford Escape hybrid around town. Our drivers have heard many comments about how quiet and comfortable the hybrid is and how smooth it rides. It has a much improved in-town mpg than the other vehicles; and we have added an "assist handle" to make entering and exiting the vehicle more comfortable for our seniors.
Need a ride to Madison for work or school?
Our Portage to Madison Shuttle service departs from Market Square in Portage at 6:00 am Monday through Friday and arrives at the Madison Metro North Transfer Point at 6:45 am.
At 5:30 pm it departs from the Madison Metro North Transfer Point and arrives at Market Square in Portage at 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Shuttle capacity is 12 ambulatory plus 2 wheel chair riders. The fare is $10.00 per day per rider; weekly and monthly passes are also available. Free wi-fi is available on board.
